    • Install (3) M3 heatset inserts into Print_ToolBank_01 as shown. (See heatset insert supplement for best practices.)

    • Mix a small quantity of 2-part epoxy and seat (1) magnet into marked location.

    • Depending on your printers tolerance, adhesive may not be needed. If using epoxy, be careful not to use too much. The final position of the magnet when fully seated should be flush with the face of the aluminum idle tool bank cooler.

    • Note: Wipe away any excess epoxy around the base of the magnet.

  2. Place Tool Dock assembly on a sturdy surface as shown. Drive M4x32 linear shafts into corresponding holes shown.
    • Place Tool Dock assembly on a sturdy surface as shown. Drive M4x32 linear shafts into corresponding holes shown.

    • NOTE: The linear rods should be inserted until flush with the back of the printed part. Final depth will be set later in assembly.

    • Avoid drilling these holes to achieve a slip fit with the linear rods. We want a tight and concentric bore.

    • NOTE: The rods are secured by interference fit into the printed dock. If fitment is too loose, tool exchanges can fail.

  3. Install and secure (1) Tool Dock Wire Guide as shown using (1) M3x6mm Countersunk fastener.
    • Install and secure (1) Tool Dock Wire Guide as shown using (1) M3x6mm Countersunk fastener.

  4. Insert (1) length of steel wire into the marked hole and seat fully. See photo 2 for the correct orientation. The bend radius and overall shape/length of this wire can be tuned at a later time.

    • The bend radius and overall shape/length of this wire can be tuned at a later time.

    • Install and secure (1) M3x3mm Set Screw into the marked location and tighten to engage steel wire.

    • NOTE: The steel wires used to reinforce the wire loom are not modeled in CAD.

  5. Mate tool dock to spacer as shown and temporarily fit (2) M4x30mm fasteners for mounting later in assembly.
    • Mate tool dock to spacer as shown and temporarily fit (2) M4x30mm fasteners for mounting later in assembly.

    • Repeat entire procedure (steps 1-5) 1 time for each additional tool that will be fitted to the printer. Set aside.

  6. NOTE: The newest version of this model contains provisions for an additional (2) 3mm set screws for tool post retention.
    • NOTE: The newest version of this model contains provisions for an additional (2) 3mm set screws for tool post retention.

    • The need to adjust the length of these posts is very rare.
